General Conference

I'm still trying to catch up a bit but I wanted to comment on this last weekends General Conference. I love being lazy and staying in my pj's and watching conference. Especially after Ben treats us to a nice big breakfast! I love especially listening to the Prophet. I so miss President Hinkley, but I love President Monson. It's amazing how each Prophet can touch your heart. I have such a strong testimony that he is here to lead and guide us. I was very moved by his talk at the closing of Sunday mornings session, I had to go back and listen to it again. It absolutely brought me to tears. (I found this picture while searching for a FHE lesson and I just love it!) President Monson.... "...Find joy in the journey, NOW... There is no tomorrow to remember if we don't do something today... Be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly clean surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry that need to be tackled, will disappear all too soon and that you will to your surprise miss them profoundly...Deal with stress the best we can, but we should not let them get in the way to what is most important and what is most important almost always involves the people around us. Often they assume how much we love them, but we should never assume, we should let them know. Send that note to the friend you've been neglecting. Give your child a hug. Give your parents a hug. Say I love you more. Always express your thanks. Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved." This statement speaks to me in so many ways. To live in the now, be happy, and have fun. Be a better friend, daughter, sister, wife, and most importantly a better mother...NOW. Ever since I was little all I wanted was a baby of my own. Now I am blessed with three. I constantly need to remind myself how blessed I am to have these precious spirits and to love them and teach them and play with them before they are gone. To remind myself that it is okay to sometimes let the house go, or other things go and just be with them. I love them so much, I can't let this moment pass me by.

I loved that quote too! I need to frame it and put it in my bathroom to remind me! I too easily forget the joys of my children and see the messes they make instead.

while he was talking my family room floor was covered with socks that I was sorting. Hayden whispers to me "See mom, you are going to miss this." Ha Ha. Then one hour later Hayden and Zach were fighting on the tramp and Hayden came in with a broken tooth!! Yeah baby, enjoy it now before they can cause harm to each other!! Ha Ha. Really that was one of the best talks because I always need to remember to enjoy the journey NOW. Love ya.
